Gear up and get ready! The winner of this auction prize + one guest will be outfitted along with bike rental from Gears Bike Shop, followed by a morning round-trip ride with John to Oakville. Hammer back! A delicious lunch will follow at El Catrin in the Distillery.

Terms/Timing: Chasing Capital Prize Package is tentatively scheduled for July 26, 2017 OR August 9, 2017, pending winner’s availability. This event can also be re-scheduled between now and June 2018 (weather permitting).

 

About John Ruffolo

Mr. Ruffolo is the Chief Executive Officer of OMERS Ventures, the venture arm of OMERS, one of Canada’s leading pension funds. OMERS Ventures invests in early to late stage companies in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications sectors. In addition, he is also the Executive Managing Director with OMERS Platform Investments, the innovation investing arm of OMERS.

Mr. Ruffolo serves as a board member of both Hootsuite and D2L (Desire2Learn). He is the Chairman of OMERS Energy and serves on the Member Council of Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). John is the co-founder and Vice-Chair of the Council of Canadian Innovators. He also serves as a board member of OneEleven and Communitech, respectively, both leading innovation hubs in Canada. In addition, John serves as a member of the Ontario Centres of Excellence's Board of Directors. He is also the Vice-Chair of the David Suzuki Foundation and is a board member of Canadians for Clean Prosperity and The Next Big Thing Foundation. John has also recently joined the Board of Governors for the ROM. He is a member of the Toronto chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Prior to joining OMERS Ventures, Mr. Ruffolo was a Partner at Deloitte, as well as the Global Thought Leader, the Global Tax Leader and the Canadian Industry Leader for Deloitte’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice. He was also a member of the firm’s Tax and TMT Global Leadership teams and a member of Deloitte’s Board of Directors.

A chartered accountant, Mr. Ruffolo was formerly a partner with Arthur Andersen LLP and has also spent time as an instructor for both the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and York University’s Schulich School of Business, from which he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Experience will be approximately  2-3 hours

This experience is tentatively scheduled for July 26 or August 9, pending winner’s availability. This event can also be re-scheduled between now and June 2018 (weather permitting). 

Experience cannot be resold or re-auctioned.

Travel and accommodations are not included.

Winning bidder is subject to security screening. If the winner fails the background check, they forfeit the prize.

We expect all winning bidders and their guests to conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience. Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must.

The winning bidder/participant will be required to sign a liability release.

The minimum age to partake in this experience is 19 years of age

Should the winning bidder not feel comfortable partaking in the cycling portion of this experience, the lunch portion will still be valid.
